September 14, 2010 it's as easy as ABC

My repertoire of songs to sing to Jack is slowly growing as I remember more and more songs from my childhood. Yesterday, I remembered "head, shoulders, knees, and toes" which will be nice to throw in the mix. I'm grateful for Google and Wikipedia which have helped when I can't remember what I will buy when the looking glass breaks or for whom Baa Baa Black Sheep has three bags of wool.

I've noticed that Jack really likes the ABCs, but when I get to the end of the song, he always starts crying. I think it's because I've been using American Sign Language to sign along with my (questionable) singing. When I get to "now I've sung my ABCs" I don't have any hand gestures. I caught it on video this afternoon.

September 11, 2010 Jack videos

tiny prince of peek-a-boo...Jack LOVES peek-a-boo. We love his laugh.

Jack flips over now! Stomach to back -mostly over his right side, but he can do both. I think he likes how excited I get when he flips. We practice every day, but he's got to be in the right mood (plenty of rest and a full belly) for the workout:)

I like that I got a good shot of his swirl in this video. Johnny was installing a ceiling fan in our bedroom (the loud banging in the background).

September 7, 2010 ault park

Jack's been enjoying his baby einstein jump-a-roo activity center, so we decided to take him to the park to see if he'd like the swings. The swings were much bigger than we thought they would be, but with a blanket stuffed in for support, he did just fine. I think he enjoyed it.

He's almost bigger than the bear! Jack's four month check-up was Tuesday (9.7.10).

August 21, 2010 Jack & Rylie

August 20-22 we took our first road trip to Athens since Jack's birth. We met our adorable niece Rylie for the first time. She was born approximately 3 weeks after Jack - they're both May babies. Amie had the Baby Payne/Baby Perez onesies made long before their birth and they fit them perfectly for our little photo shoot. It'll be so fun to watch these two grow up together!
